We have only one purpose: creating the best possible kayaking experience for San Francisco Giants games. Our rentals are more affordable than other options, we use higher quality kayaks, and I will be on the water with you during the game, so if any issues arise, help is immediate.

We also offer helpful add-ons like anchors, seat cushions, radios/earphones, waterproof floating phone pouches, and dry bags, to make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Most importantly, we are the only kayak rental that includes a hot dog with each booking.

Bay Dog Kayaks is a one-person operation, and because of that there are a few limitations. We have a maximum of 10 kayaks, so availability is limited and bookings can fill up quickly.

We also ask that guests plan to stay for the entire game. If you know ahead of time that you’ll need to leave before the game ends, please let me know when you book and I’ll do my best to work with you. Of course, in the event of an emergency, I will kayak back to the dock with you and make sure you’re taken care of.

Bay Dog Kayaks is best for people who want a small, hands-on, tailored Giants game experience and are comfortable with a guided, group-style outing.

And of course, if you hate hot dogs don’t book with us. We don’t need that energy (kidding… kinda).

We offer kayak rentals in McCovey Cove for every Saturday and Sunday afternoon home game. Every rental includes a kayak, paddle, personal floatation device, and — most importantly — a hot dog.

We offer a selection of add-ons to make your time on the water more comfortable and enjoyable, including anchors, seat cushions, portable radios and earphones, gloves, waterproof floating phone pouches, fishing nets (for splash hits) and dry bags. Each item is available for an additional $5, and availability is limited, so we recommend requesting add-ons when you book.

*We highly recommend anchors (especially on windy days) and a radio for the most enjoyable experience.

You can usually hear the crowd noise, announcements, and general stadium atmosphere, but full play-by-play commentary isn’t broadcast to McCovey Cove. There is a large TV facing the Cove, so you’ll be able to watch the live game broadcast from the water. If you’d like to listen to the play-by-play, we offer portable radio rentals ($5) so you can follow along with the KNBR broadcast while enjoying the view from McCovey Cove.

Congratulations! If you catch a splash hit, your basic rental package will be FREE! If you booked a premium package, we’ll take $75 off your booking.

*Splash hit is defined as a home run ball hit by a Giants player that lands in McCovey Cove on the fly.

We launch from the Mission Creek Kayak Launch, located at 401 Berry St, San Francisco, CA 94158.

Street parking near the boat ramp is available but extremely limited on game day. Please plan to arrive at the boat ramp at least 30 minutes before first pitch. Kayaks will be available 1.5 hours before first pitch.

The deposit is fully refundable up to 7 days before the game.

Bay Dog Kayaks is a small, one-person operation, and because of our limited capacity we require a $75 deposit at the time of booking.

We ask for this to protect against last-minute cancellations, which can be difficult for our small operation to absorb. If you’re unsure about your plans or prefer a no-deposit option, another provider may be a better fit.

We ask that guests plan to stay for the entire game. If you know in advance that you’ll need to leave early, please let us know at the time of your booking and we’ll do our best to accomodate you.

If an emergency comes up during the game, of course you can leave early. We will accompany you back to the boat ramp and make sure you’re taken care of.

At Bay Dog Kayaks, our number one priority is your safety. If unsafe conditions are forecasted or observed — such as high winds, small craft advisories, heavy rain, or rough water — Bay Dog Kayaks may cancel or shorten a rental at any time.

If we or the Giants cancel before the game starts:

You will receive a full refund, including your deposit.

If conditions require cancellation after the game has started:

A partial refund will be issued. Refunds are calculated by dividing the total booking price by 9 innings, with refunds covering any innings not completed at the time of cancellation.

*Rain, light fog, overcast skies, and typical SF bay conditions do not automatically result in cancellation.

Yes.

Nope. We use Wilderness Systems Tarpon kayaks ranging from 10–12 feet, which are very stable and beginner-friendly. No prior kayaking experience is required.

We also have a limited number of sit-inside kayaks. If you prefer this style, prior experience with sit-inside kayaks is required, and you must let us know at the time of the booking so we can reserve one for you.

We provide a 100% all beef classic ballpark style hot dog. If you don’t eat beef or meat, we’re happy to provide alternative options. Just let us know your preference when you book so we can plan ahead.

Yes! We provide one hot dog with each basic package and two hot dogs with the premium package (per person). If you’re still hungry, additional hot dogs are available for $5 each.
